ARTHUR CHARLES “ART” STEWART, 80, of Davison died Friday, September 4, 2009 at McLaren Regional Medical Center. Arthur was born in Flint on March 26, 1929 to Arthur and Sadie (Kirkbride) Stewart.

He resided in Davison most of his life. Answering the call to his country, Art served in the US Army during the Korean War. He was joined in marriage to Bonnie

Rae Bishop on October 1, 1955 at St. John

Vianney Catholic Church in Flint. He has been a member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Davison for over 40 years. He served as an usher at the church for numerous years, and was a member of Genesee County Special Deputies Unit, Davison Optimist Club, and the “Truth Table” at Archie’s. He was employed by General Motors Buick Division for forty-two years retiring in 1990.

He is survived by his wife, Bonnie; daughter, Shelly (Ed) Roberts of Davison; Son, Donald (Anne) Stewart of Ann Arbor; grandchildren, Sara (Chuck) Singer, Katelyn Stewart, Eddie Roberts, Andy Roberts, and Stacey Roberts; brother, Bob(Judy) Stewart of Davison and many other relatives.

He was preceded in death by his brother, Donald Stewart.

Contribution in his memory may be made to the St. John Family Center.

A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated on Tuesday, September 08, 2009 at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church. Father Andrew Czajkowski officiated.
