Outreach East progressive raffle still growing

DAVISON — The Outreach East Queen of Hearts Playing Card Progressive Raffle jackpot is at more than $1,600. The drawing is held every week on Sunday at 6 p.m., ticket sales close at 5:45 p.m. The drawing is held at Maddens Lounge, 809 N. State Rd. through May 26. Seventy-percent of proceeds go toward prizes, 30 percent to Outreach East’s food pantry. Eighteen "paying" cards are back in the case at Madden's for the raffle. If the envelope from the number you wrote on your ticket stub is drawn and has a Joker, Ace, King, Queen or Deuce you win money in addition to the $25 from your ticket being picked. You need not be present to win. Tickets are $1. Tickets are available at Madden’s and Outreach. — G.G.

Haas and True to perform April 19 at St. John

DAVISON — Christian singers David Haas and Lori True will perform at 7:30 p.m., April 19 at St. John the Evangelist Church. The concert is sponsored by the Davison Knights of Columbus and The Catholic Community of St. John and Blessed Sacrament.

Swing into Spring at St. John’s Family Center

DAVISON — The St. John’s Family Center Gym, 505 N. Dayton St., will play host to adults and students seventh grade and older for a Swing into Spring event, April 12 from 6-9 p.m. Cost is $10 per person or $15 per couple. There’s also a $20 and $30 family rate. It’s a fun night of swing dance and instruction.

Zingo at the VFW

DAVISON TWP. — The Davison Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 4087, 9474 Lapeer Rd., will hold Zingo night, April 19 from 6:30-8:30 p.m. Zingo is basically like Bingo, except you win prizes instead of money. Cost to play for two hours is $10. Details: 810-658-3433 or 810- 653-5928. — G.G.

Celebrate Magic Day with a show at DHS

DAVISON TWP. — Each year Michigan Magic Day is hosted by one of the Magic clubs throughout Michigan.

There will be a public magic show at 7 p.m. at the Davison High School auditorium, 1250 N. Oak Rd. hosted by the Flint Conjurer’s Club.

The emcee will be Nathan Kranzo and the magician lineup will be: Rick Merrill, Sean Bogunia, Eric DeCamps, Rick Carver and Bill Hoffman.
