MCC to host “Flint Fright FilmFest”

Presented by the Flint Horror Collective

FLINT — The Flint Horror Collective is bringing a new era of terror to Flint this October with the inaugural Flint Fright FilmFest. This one-day film festival will be held Oct. 14, in the Mott Memorial Building Auditorium on the campus of Mott Community College (MCC). The FilmFest will feature more than 40 spine-chilling films from around the world from noon to 9 p.m.

The FLINT FRIGHT FILMFEST is free to MCC students with student ID or $5 for the general public. Films are not appropriate for younger audiences, must be 18 to attend.

Five trophies will be awarded at the end of the event, including:

The Grand Ghoul Award for best film;

The Bradbury Award for best writing in a film;

The Chaney Award for best special effects in a film;

The Charles Shaver Workforce Development career pathways.

“We wanted to give prospective students and the whole community a taste of college, to better understand what we have to offer,” said Carla Clark, Academic Outreach Coordinator. “And we also wanted to give current students a chance to explore subjects they are interested in before signing up for a full class. It is a great opportunity for everyone to explore their interests and learn more about MCC.”

In addition to mini college classes, there will be giveaways, and refreshments. For more information contact Clark at 810-232-4530 or Carla. clark@mcc.edu. Register online at www.mcc.edu/mcc4free.
