Board approves Schools of Choice resolutions

DAVISON — The Davison Board of Education unanimously approved two resolutions that will allow a limited number of non-resident students to apply to Davison Community Schools.

Michelle Edwards, Director of Public Information at Davison Community Schools, said the first resolution (Section 105 Schools of Choice) applies to students living within Genesee County’s boundaries. The second resolution, Section 105c Schools of Choice, concerns students from counties that are contiguous with Genesee, including Lapeer, Shiawassee, Tuscola and Oakland.

Edwards said non-residents make up approximately eight percent of DCS’s current student population. — B.G.
